Join Our London Entrepreneurship Training Program
For so many years, LEADERites have been volunteering their time overseas to build first-time entrepreneurs in business skill and understanding. Involving students and business community leaders has allowed LEADER to remain relevant and to better meet the needs of the changing economic conditions within the countries where we operate.
This year LEADER has decided to open its entrepreneurial training program up to the London community. Inviting participants from our local community, we’re offering our training program to anyone age 18-29 with entrepreneurial drive, a working level proficiency of basic mathematical skills and fluency in English.
Introducing LEADER to London allows the team and program to empower young business minds across London with essential business tools and skills in a case study environment. The students who enroll to participate in ‘Bringing LEADER Home’ will also add great value to this year’s team as this program will also act as training for our team in a new way that will improve our ability to impact abroad.
The program will run once a week for 9 weeks starting in January of 2015 using the same lecture and case method developed for the upcoming venture abroad. All cases used will be real cases developed from the Ivey Business School. The course covers a wide range of crucial business skills like: Opportunity recognition, Marketing basics, Operations, Finance, Communications, Business management, Business plan development, Pitching a business idea, and conflict resolution. Students will have opportunities to prepare cases before class, have engaging discussions in the classroom, work in groups and present their learning to their peers.
While the program is free to all who apply, space is limited. Apply now and we will reach out to you as soon as possible.
The application deadline is December 15, 11:59 pm EDT.

About LEADERLEADER is a student-driven overseas economic development program. It was founded in 1991 by MBA students from the Richard Ivey School of Business with the mandate of empowering promising entrepreneurs in frontier markets to envision, launch, and/or scale new ventures. Through this approach LEADER aims to enable high-potential individuals to develop local business solutions that create opportunities for their communities.
Each year LEADER sends a team of Ivey students to a number of sites, where they teach foundational business administration and entrepreneurial skills. Volunteer instructors from the MBA, HBA, MSc and PhD programs take part in a mutually beneficial experience that allows them to build a unique skill set. LEADER now has a network of over 500 instructor alumni (LEADERites), all graduates of the Ivey Business School. Many of our alumni occupy some of the most senior roles at the world’s largest banks, management consulting firms, and NGOs, and credit the cross-cultural and leadership skills they developed while on LEADER for their professional success. |
