Why are we there?
Alongside high single-digit GDP growth, stemming from an ambitious five-year economic growth plan, Ethiopia has begun to attract significant foreign investment in various industries. Now, more than ever, Ethiopians will need the core business skills that can help them succeed in a global market. By partnering with the AAU, LEADER will coach and develop entrepreneurial talent in Ethiopia’s future business leaders. It’s these individuals that will contribute to further bolstering Ethiopia's economic progress domestically and abroad. What makes the location unique? Ethiopia is the only African country not to be colonized by a European power, and as such doesn’t have the same colonial heritage – both from a political and economic standpoint. This has presented a significant hurdle for the country to overcome. Ethiopia also houses the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, where continent-wide socioeconomic objectives are mandated – making the capital a key thought center for initiatives relating to African development. |
